City Councilmembers Nominating Petitions Notice
 
CITY OF BRIGHTON
NOTICE TO REGISTERED ELECTORS
NOMINATING PETITIONS
CITY COUNCILMEMBERS
 
 
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that nomination petitions for candidates for the office of Councilmember (four vacancies) are available at the office of the City Clerk.  Current terms expire 11/17.  Candidates for elective office in the City of Brighton must have the following qualifications:
 
            1.         Must be a qualified and registered elector of the City.
            2.         Must have been a resident for at least two years.
            3.         Must not be in default to the City.
 
At the time of filing, an affidavit stating qualifications and proof of citizenship must also be filed.  Failure to file such affidavit shall invalidate the petition.
 
Petition forms and additional information may be obtained at the City Clerk’s office, 200 N. First Street, Brighton, Michigan, between 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  DEADLINE TO FILE SUCH PETITIONS IS 4:00 P.M. TUESDAY, April 25, 2017.
