Police Reports

Making a Police Report

Dial 911 to request a police officer to respond to any location within the City of Brighton.

Obtaining a Copy of a Police Report

Copies of police reports, including accident reports, can be picked up at the Police Department upon payment of the applicable fee during regular business hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Copies of routine police reports are generally available 72 hours after being taken. Police reports of cases under active prosecution are not available except with the permission of the Livingston County Prosecutor's Office (517-546-1850). It is recommended that before coming to pick up a police report, that you call to make sure that the desired report is available for release.
